About This Audiobook

Perfect for fans of Tahereh Mafi's New York Times bestselling Shatter Me trilogy, this audiobook collects her two companion novellas, Fracture Me and Destroy Me, for the first time in audio. It also features an exclusive look into Juliette's journal and a preview of Ignite Me, the third installment of the series.

Destroy Me tells the events between Shatter Me and Unravel Me from Warner's point of view. Even though Juliette shot him in order to escape, Warner can't stop thinking about her - and he'll do anything to get her back. But when the Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment arrives, he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner cannot allow.

Fracture Me is told from Adam's perspective and bridges the gap between Unravel Me and Ignite Me. As the Omega Point rebels prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers, Adam's more focused on the safety of Juliette, Kenji, and his brother. The Reestablishment will do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam cares about.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent and The Hunger Games. This captivating story, which combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, was praised as ""a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love"" by Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

And don’t miss Defy Me, the shocking fifth book in the Shatter Me series!

  • Narrator: James Fouhey voices Warner and Adam's chapters; what that brings to their perspectives never comes up in any of the five write-ups here.
  • Subjects: sympathy for a morally complicated antagonist, loyalty under an oppressive regime, companion novellas expanding a trilogy
  • Tone: emotionally intense and character-focused, aimed at readers already attached to the main series
  • Bottom line: a worthwhile deep dive into Warner and Adam for existing Shatter Me fans, not a place to start the series.

Unite Me is an audiobook built entirely from the margins of the Shatter Me trilogy, handing the microphone to Warner and Adam, the two men orbiting Juliette, across two companion novellas that had never been available in audio before this release.

Our Take on Unite Me

Destroy Me covers the stretch of time between Shatter Me and Unravel Me from Warner's side of events. Juliette shot him on her way out, and Warner cannot stop thinking about her, willing to do almost anything to get her back, even as the Supreme Commander of the Reestablishment arrives with very different plans for Juliette, plans Warner refuses to allow. Fracture Me switches to Adam's perspective and bridges Unravel Me and Ignite Me, following the Omega Point rebels as they prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers while Adam stays focused on protecting Juliette, Kenji, and his own brother from a Reestablishment willing to kill everyone Adam cares about to crush the resistance.

love2dazzle's review is the most substantial reaction on file here, and it centers entirely on Warner. The novella, love2dazzle writes, changed a whole point of view on the character, offering real insight into how Warner thinks and what actually motivates him. That does not erase what love2dazzle calls some genuinely inexcusable behavior, but it makes Warner hard to dislike afterward, and love2dazzle comes away convinced Warner's feelings for Juliette run deeper than a desire for power or control. That reversal, going in wary of Warner and coming out sympathetic to him, is close to the exact experience Destroy Me seems designed to produce.

The 2014 review from an Amazon Customer backs that read up from a different angle, describing becoming a committed Warner fan specifically because of Destroy Me, saying the novella proved that much more goes on underneath Warner than the main trilogy alone reveals. Both reviews land on the same basic idea: this collection exists to complicate a character the original books kept at more of a distance.

Anyone already invested in the Shatter Me world gets a straightforward pitch here: a chance to sit inside the heads of two men the trilogy usually shows from the outside. Ransom Riggs, author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, is quoted calling the wider series a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love, and the synopsis positions it for readers who already like Divergent and The Hunger Games.

Beyond the two novellas themselves, this edition includes an exclusive look into Juliette's journal and a preview of Ignite Me, the third full novel in the series, which gives listeners already caught up on the main books a reason to pick this up even if novellas are not usually their thing. Lola's short review makes a related point simply, calling it a great series for teens, which is a fair summary of the intended audience even without going into detail on the bonus material.

James Fouhey voices Warner's and Adam's chapters. What that brings to two such emotionally loaded perspectives is simply not something any of the five reviewers gets into. Storytide released this edition in September 2019, and at 4 hours and 41 minutes it is short enough to fit in around a full listen of the main trilogy rather than becoming its own separate commitment.

What to Watch For in Unite Me

This is not a starting point. Both novellas are explicitly framed as bridges between existing books in the main series, Destroy Me between Shatter Me and Unravel Me, Fracture Me between Unravel Me and Ignite Me, so a listener needs the trilogy's events already in place for either one to land the way love2dazzle or the Amazon Customer describe.

Two of the five reviews here also drift toward describing a physical book rather than the audio edition. The Amazon Customer's review specifically thanks Harper Teen for printing this book and describes having the whole series together on a bookshelf, and Berrygirl22's review notes that the book arrived in perfect condition, both comments that make sense for a print purchase but say nothing about the audiobook itself. Worth noting too, Harper Teen is not the publisher on this particular audio listing, which credits Storytide instead, so the print edition being described and the audio edition being reviewed here may not be the same product.

Four votes are on record behind the displayed 4.8 rating, yet the page itself shows five people who took the time to write full reviews, one more than the count admits to. The rating itself lands in the range where the arithmetic depends on which rounding convention is used, so no firm claim can be made about it either way. What can be said is that the reviews on file run from 2014 through early 2026, more than a decade of listeners still finding and responding to these two novellas well after the main trilogy wrapped, which is a reasonable sign of staying power for a spinoff release.

Who Should Listen to Unite Me

Shatter Me readers who finished the trilogy and want more are the obvious audience here, particularly anyone who, like love2dazzle and the Amazon Customer, found themselves more invested in Warner than the main books fully explained. Adam's chapters offer the same kind of deepening for a character who otherwise risks getting overshadowed by Warner's more dramatic arc, and Cydney's review makes the case that both additions genuinely add to the world rather than padding it, giving context and motivation to characters the main trilogy leaves comparatively thin.

Not the right pick if you have not read Shatter Me and Unravel Me yet, since both novellas assume that groundwork rather than building it from scratch. And if a print copy is what you are actually after, based on those two reviews describing shelf space and packaging, make sure you are ordering the right edition before you buy.

A short bridge into Ignite Me specifically is another reasonable use case, since the preview included here is pitched as a direct lead-in rather than a generic teaser. Fans who have already read the full series and simply want to revisit Warner's and Adam's chapters in audio form, rather than picking up the physical novellas again, are exactly who this shorter, four-and-a-half-hour release seems built for.

How long is the Unite Me audiobook?

Storytide's edition runs 4 hours and 41 minutes, short enough to fit around a full listen of the main Shatter Me trilogy without becoming its own separate commitment. It collects the novellas Destroy Me and Fracture Me together in audio for the very first time.

Do I need to read the Shatter Me trilogy before this audiobook?

Yes. Both novellas are framed as bridges between existing books, Destroy Me between Shatter Me and Unravel Me, Fracture Me between Unravel Me and Ignite Me, so listeners need that groundwork already in place for either story to make sense.

Does the Unite Me audiobook include any bonus content beyond the two novellas?

Yes. This edition adds an exclusive look into Juliette's journal and a preview of Ignite Me, the third full novel in the series, giving already-caught-up listeners a reason to pick it up even if novellas are not usually their thing.

Why do some reviews of Unite Me mention a print book instead of the audio?

Two reviews describe details that fit a physical copy, one thanking Harper Teen for printing the book and mentioning shelf space, another noting the book arrived in perfect condition. Harper Teen is not the publisher credited on this specific audio listing, which lists Storytide instead.
