About This Audiobook

From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a new STANDALONE MM college romance..
I’m not attracted to men..
Or so I thought before I slammed into Nikolai Sokolov..
A mafia heir, a notorious bastard, and a violent monster..
An ill-fated meeting puts me in his path.
And just like that, he has his sights set on me.
A quiet artist, a golden boy, and his enemy’s twin brother.
He doesn’t seem to care that the odds are stacked against us.
In fact, he sets out to break my steel-like control and blur my limits.
I thought my biggest worry was being noticed by Nikolai.
I’m learning the hard way that being wanted by this beautiful nightmare is much worse.

God of Fury contains sensitive subjects that can be upsetting to some listeners. Please read the sample of the eBook for the full list of disclaimers. This book can be listened to on its own, but for a better understanding of the world, you might want to start with God of Malice.

Sensitive content is flagged on this listing, and the flag points at a different product. The copy states plainly that this audiobook contains subjects that can be upsetting to some listeners, then asks you to read the sample of the ebook for the full list of disclaimers. Somebody buying sixteen hours of dark MM romance is being told, on the page where the money changes hands, that the information they need lives on another page in another format. That is a small thing and it sets the tone for a record that is otherwise generous with detail: fifth in the Legacy of Gods sequence, standalone by design, and openly recommending God of Malice as the better place to start.

Nikolai Sokolov arrives in the description as three things at once, a mafia heir, a notorious bastard and a violent monster, and then spends the book refusing to behave like any of them. That gap is the engine. One five-star from September 2025 lands on the shorthand the fandom has settled on, calling him the ultimate green flag and a golden retriever of a character who loves with his whole heart and is unapologetically himself, and pairing him with a grumpy and sunshine dynamic plus what that reader scores as three and a half peppers of heat. The monster billing is marketing. The book is running a much softer play underneath it.

Brandon, whom the description declines to name and the responses name constantly, is the harder half to write. He opens by announcing that he is not attracted to men, which is the oldest engine in this subgenre and the easiest one to stall. What keeps it moving is that the copy gives him a specific shape before the romance touches him: a quiet artist, a golden boy, and the twin brother of Nikolai's enemy. That last detail is doing structural work. The obstacle is not a secret or a misunderstanding, it is a family the reader can see coming from the first chapter, and the book never pretends otherwise.

Hamilton's Half of an Uncredited Duet Narration

Duet is the word one September 2025 four-star reaches for in describing the reading, and it is the most useful sentence anywhere on this page. That entry calls the duet narration wonderful, singles out Teddy Hamilton's handling of Nikolai as the unhinged sunshine half of the pair, and in the same breath docks the book for feeling unoriginal next to other dark angsty MM romances while praising the way humor keeps the angst in balance. All of that is fair. It also raises a problem the record does not answer: the reader field names Teddy Hamilton and stops. If a second voice carried Brandon's chapters across fifteen hours and fifty-nine minutes, that performer is credited nowhere a buyer can see.

Banter is what separates this from the flatter end of the subgenre, and it is the reason the recording is worth choosing over the text. Nikolai talks constantly, deflects with jokes, and keeps undercutting his own menace, and on the page that reads as characterization. Spoken aloud it becomes timing. A joke landing inside a scene that has just turned cruel is a tonal switch a reader skimming quickly can flatten out entirely, and it is exactly the sort of thing a voice cannot flatten, since the performer has to commit to one reading or the other. Sixteen hours of that pull between menace and warmth is the actual product here.

Disclaimers Live Elsewhere, and the Middle Breathes

Disclaimers are the thing to sort out before you buy, not after. Nothing on this page itemizes what the sensitive subjects actually are, and a pointer to a sample in another format is not a substitute for a line of text under the buy button. Dark MM romance covers an enormous range, from possessive jealousy to material that genuinely requires warning. A listener who needs to know which end of that range this sits at has to go looking on another page, and the answer determines whether sixteen hours is a pleasure or an ambush.

Pacing is the reservation hiding inside the enthusiasm. One entry filed ten days after release scores the book across nine separate categories, and gives the ending and the world building its top mark while rating the page turner quality noticeably lower. Fifteen hours and fifty-nine minutes is long for a college romance, and a book that scores high on feeling and lower on momentum is a book with stretches in it. The publisher line, which reads as the author's own imprint, means nobody upstream was going to argue for cuts. Expect the middle to breathe more than the marketing implies.

Fifth Book In, Humor Makes It an Easy Entry

Readers who want dark romance with an actual sense of humor in it are the target, and the fifth book turns out to be an unusually good entry point for a series this deep. A January 2026 entry describes the book as still dark and intense like the rest of the sequence while landing differently on the emotional side, and refers to what it bought as the Standard Edition, which is the only hint anywhere on this record that other editions exist. Nothing in the fields confirms or denies that. Anyone who cares which version they are getting will have to check elsewhere.

Everyone else should treat the standalone label carefully. The copy says the book can be listened to on its own and then recommends starting with God of Malice for a better understanding of the world, which are two different pieces of advice sitting one sentence apart. Both are probably true. Nikolai and Brandon's story resolves inside these sixteen hours; the family politics around it will not fully land. If you want the romance, start here. If you want the world, the record has already told you where the door is.

The Short Version

  • Narration: Teddy Hamilton is the only name in the reader field, though the column describes a two-voice reading, so half this dual point-of-view romance has an uncredited performer behind it.
  • Themes: MM dark romance, grumpy and sunshine, enemy's twin brother, mafia family obligation, first same-sex attraction.
  • Mood: Angsty, funny and deliberately overheated.
  • Verdict: Strong on voice and comic timing, familiar in plot, and worth the time if you can find the content warnings the listing refuses to print.

How explicit is the audiobook, and how dark does it get?

One March 2026 entry, whose headline is a row of six stars on a five-star scale, sums it up as insane tension, brutal angst and spice off the charts, and calls the emotional depth the part that makes it stick. Dark is accurate. The description confirms sensitive subjects without listing a single one of them.

Who narrates Brandon's chapters?

The record does not say. Teddy Hamilton is the single name in the reader field, and nothing on this listing names anybody else. A dual point-of-view romance running close to sixteen hours would normally split the work between two performers, so the credit as printed is almost certainly incomplete. The sample settles it in a minute.

Where can a buyer find the content warnings before starting the audiobook?

Not on this page, which is the frustration. The description admits the book carries subjects some listeners will find upsetting, then sends them to a text sample in a different format to find out which ones. Nothing itemized appears here at all. Track the warnings down before committing to a runtime this long.
